Welcome, Soul Sister 🤍

If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’ve lived a little.

You’ve been hurt, misunderstood, betrayed, or stretched in ways you never asked for. You love God—and you’re still healing. Still unlearning. Still figuring out what wholeness looks like now.

This is a place for truth-telling and tenderness.

A place where faith and healing meet—without judgment, without pretending, and without pressure to be “over it.”

At Seasoned Soul Sister’s Place, we talk about the real things:

the scars we carry, the lessons they taught us, and the God who never left us while we were breaking. We believe healing is not rushed, forgiveness is a journey, and strength doesn’t always look loud.

You don’t have to explain yourself here.

You don’t have to be perfect.

You don’t have to have the right words.

Come as you are. Sit for a while. Read slowly. Breathe deeply.

This is a sisterhood rooted in Christ, guided by grace, and committed to becoming whole—together.

You’re safe here. And you’re not alone.

Christian Encouragement for Women Over 50: Finding Joy

I never thought I’d see joy again.

I was only 14 when I had my first child. Life felt like it started before I even knew who I was. I carried shame, I carried judgment, and I carried responsibilities that weighed heavy on a girl’s shoulders. Later, I survived broken relationships that left me feeling unworthy of real love. And years later, I faced the most unbearable heartbreak—burying my adult son. That kind of pain changes you forever.

Yet here I am today, over 50, standing in front of high school students every day as an educator—guiding, teaching, and pouring into young lives. It amazes me how God takes broken pieces and creates something whole.

Finding Joy After Pain

For a long time, I thought joy was gone for good. But slowly, I realized joy isn’t about pretending the pain never happened. It’s about learning to live again with God’s promises carrying you.

“The joy of the Lord is my strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10

I discovered that joy is not something the world gives—it’s something God restores.

Lessons That Brought My Joy Back

  • Gratitude in Small Things – On the hardest mornings, I started by thanking God for just one thing. Some days it was as simple as “Lord, thank You for breath in my body.” That gratitude grew roots of joy in me.

  • Turning My Scars into Testimonies – Instead of hiding my past, I began sharing it. My scars became survival stories that encouraged others.

  • Pouring into Others – Teaching isn’t just a career for me—it’s ministry. Investing in my students gives me purpose and reminds me that God still has work for me to do.

  • Allowing God to Heal – Grief doesn’t vanish, but God has a way of holding you together when you feel undone.

Joy at This Stage of Life

Being over 50 doesn’t mean life is winding down. It means I finally understand what matters. I may have wrinkles, losses, and regrets—but I also have wisdom, strength, and a faith that cannot be shaken.

When I laugh now, it’s deeper. When I smile, it’s rooted in survival. When I encourage my students or another woman, it comes from a place of having been through the fire and knowing you can come out refined.

A Word to My Sisters

If you’ve lost something—or someone—and wonder if joy can ever be yours again, hear me: it can. Not the shallow joy the world offers, but the steady joy that comes from Christ. Joy that lives alongside the scars, not in spite of them.

You’re not forgotten. You’re not finished. And you are not too old to find joy again.

God is still using us, still shaping us, and still giving us reasons to smile. Over 50? That’s not the end—it’s the beginning of living seasoned, healed, and joy-filled.
